A Preppy Wedding in Newport
Navy and white is such a classic color combination whether it's in home design or a wedding like this preppy New England fête. Attention was paid to every single detail for couple K + R's wedding.
The mood boards from the floral designer gave us the heads up on the tent and the lush pink florals for the event. We started that mood from the very beginning with the Save the Date, taking hand calligraphy and letter pressing it for the couples names.
The stripes from the grand reception tent were the inspiration for the envelope liner and belly band around the invitation. The iconic Castle Hill Light House at the East Passage between Conanicut and Aquidneck Islands, together with the couple's initials, inspired the with wax seal.
More bursts of bright pink were used in the detail card and hand chosen stamps for the envelope, which picked up on the floral details used in the bride's bouquet and centerpieces. We love a good pop of color, especially on a deep, rich navy envelope like the one used in this invitation suite and wedding decor.
We especially love that the bride was able to change the dramatic bow on the back of her dress from white to navy for after the ceremony.
This celebration was the perfect mix of preppy and classic sophistication.
