Romance Meets the Sea in Newport

High school sweethearts Lily and Mason were married in Newport, Rhode Island overlooking the ocean. On her Instagram, Lily shared, “I knew you were the one when I was 16.” Could she have imagined then such a gorgeous wedding day?

There’s something magical about a wedding by the sea — the soft ocean breeze, the salt-kissed air, and the timeless beauty of the New England coastline. Established in 1875, storied Castle Hill Inn has embodied coastal luxury for generations.

With Lily and Mason’s invitation suite, we wanted to let their guests feel the sea breeze before they even arrive – and to carry that feeling through all the details that shape each guests’ experience.

Awash with hues of pale blue and white, the invitation features letterpress printing and watercolor. The duogram is adorned by florals that hint at the stunning display of hydrangea, white ranunculus, and peonies that decorated the ceremony and celebration.

The suite is layered with a beautiful vellum overlay of a watercolor illustration looking up the lawn toward the inn. The wax seal is an image of the Castle Hill Light. The envelope liner is inspired by the lace of Lily’s dress. 

Guest experience details include menus, table numbers, and matchboxes with illustrations of Castle Hill Light and Newport Bridge. These are the details that elevate the feeling of a day that will live forever.
