The Knot Best of Weddings 2021 Winner
We are crying tears of joy!
Earlier this year, we went into lockdown and the brakes were slammed full throttle on so many joyful events. There were oodles of invitations long mailed out, many in-house with hand calligraphy and vintage stamps waiting to go out, so many more in varying stages of production and also many that were fully designed... well, you get the picture. It was really rough.
But this tiny team of Monica, Cindy and me rolled up our collective sleeves and worked hard, together with our couples, their families and their planners to navigate through so many broken dreams. I now know the true grit and grace that these women - my tiny team - are made of.
There were times that we were overwhelmed too, uncertain of what guidance to offer. There isn't an etiquette book anywhere that guides you how to un-invite 97% of your guest list when you have a last minute backyard wedding. Just saying.
I was covered in hives for a few months, they itched like mad when my body temperature was elevated from stress. But, never mind. We, all of us, managed the reschedules and postponements. Sometimes there were tears and sometimes we managed a bit of humor. But when the thank you notes and reviews rolled in, there were only tears of joy. And to win Best of Weddings 2021 from The Knot is beyond major.
We are not out of the woods yet. But we are heartened by so many new #bespokedesignscouples with late spring weddings, early summer weddings and weddings all the way through fall of 2022. For now, though, its thank you plain and simple and profound.
