Romantic Lavender Floral Wedding Invitation and Guest Experience

Design mission: an evening under the stars at a Tuscan Villa when you’re actually in a barn in the Hudson Valley. No small challenge for the team at Soirée Event Planning & Design. You won’t want to miss a single gorgeous detail…I promise!

In a perfect world, we partner with wedding planners from the very beginning of their process with clients. That way, our custom designs infuse the event with the planner’s vision. We begin with the save the date, go into high gear with the invitation suite, and then elevate the guest experience with countless special touches all through the celebration.

Catie and Dan’s magical wedding was just that perfect world where we worked hand in hand with the planners from start to finish - and the results are breathtaking!

For this love story, we ran with the bride’s love of lavender, which charmed guests from the romantic wedding stationery to the many thoughtful touchpoints of the celebration.

Blooming after a long winter, lilacs represent the return of spring, new beginnings, and the first flush of romantic love. To enhance the pale purple hues, we brought in a complementary color in soft celadon green.

The envelope is lavender. The inside liner is an original print with lavender florals intertwined with vining white florals. The invitation suite is wrapped in celadon green velvet paper, which continues the vining floral motif and is tied with a lavender ribbon. When the wrap is opened, the inside is lined with lavender. The main invitation is a cottony white paper embossed with the vining florals. The invitation features lavender letterpress, a gold beveled edge and gold engraving that originated from hand calligraphy.

Tucked in the pocket is the lilac rehearsal dinner invitation in a die-cut shape that carries forward to the pistachio green details card and the white reply card. There was another card for a select group invited to celebrate a nuptial Mass with C&D and their families.

The couple were married at Glenmere Mansion, a Tuscan inspired Villa in the Hudson Valley. The aesthetic is Mediterranean, with soft peachy pink stucco and verdant, rolling hills. The overarching inspiration for the wedding was an Italianate European garden overflowing with super lush florals.

The celebration took place in a space that was absolutely transformed by the dynamic duo of Christine and John, owners of Soirée.

Originally planning the celebrations outdoors, the team created the feeling of bringing the outdoors in with soaring flower arrangements and a ceiling designed to twinkle with the stars of the night sky. With lavish wisteria boughs and a trellised, conservatory-style garden, Soirée created an enchanting space that had scale and intimacy at the same time.

The guest experience touches from Bespoke included custom designed banquette pillows in patterns stemming from the invitation design. We created really beautiful bar signs with laser cut, layered mirror and acrylic that carries forward the ,vining details from the invitation.

As guests walked through the trellised archways from cocktails to the reception, we designed beautiful die-cut flower seating cards, in lavender green and gold. They were discreetly clipped to the vines so each guest could “pick a flower” to discover their seating. The dance floor, cocktail napkins, the cake and even the ice cubes were branded with the couple’s elegant C&D duogram.

Partnering with John and Christine of Soirée emphasized what works so well: developing event branding and carrying it through the event to tell a story. This is what makes for memorable moments that last a lifetime.
