Sun-Kissed Wedding in Sicily
Oh Italy! What makes you so romantic?
Jessica and Evan’s wedding took place on the island of Sicily where the bride's father is originally from. Steeped in centuries of history, the venue is a windswept castle surrounded by lavish gardens and fragrant orchards.
With J&E’s save the date we set out to convey the whimsy and magic of Dimora delle Balze (Residence of the Bluffs) with its turrets, cliff-like landscapes, and Mediterranean colors of lemon yellow, pale olive green, terracotta, and soft sky blue.
For the invitation, we created a series of tile patterns inspired by the old handmade Moroccan tiles that adorn the noble estate. Within some of our tiles we drew hidden motifs special to J&E.
The invitation border recalls the architectural details and flowering vines that looped over and scented the wedding space. One of the tiles comprised the buckle that wrapped the invitation with a saffron colored ribbon.
At the wedding, we see the tile patterns in the escort cards and the invitation color palette in the florals and tablescapes. The aesthetic carried forward throughout the whole event, and it all started right here in our studio.
